Clive Vella is an open-source researcher and educator with a background in sound and music.

Currently, he serves as Data Manager at Airwars, a London-based watchdog monitoring civilian casualty claims from explosive weapon use in various conflicts. Over the past five years, he has worked with organizations including the U.S. Army Intelligence, Dutch Ministry of Defence, Syrian Civil Defence (White Helmets), and Armament Research Services (ARES).

Clive has conducted workshops for private groups and organizations such as the Disruption Network Lab and Europol, and he has taught geolocation techniques at the Centre for Research Architecture, and the University of Utrecht. He is actively collaborating with WITNESS on developing training resources.

With a background in Sound Art and Design, Clive brings over two decades of experience in live performance, composition, audio editing, and engineering. His recent commissions include work for Border Forensics and LIMINAL.

Clive’s work has been exhibited at La Biennale di Venezia, the Festival d’Automne, Museum of Art and Design at the Miami Dade College, Schirn Kunsthalle, and elsewhere.
